You must all be very sad to have completed your final performance of Ann and Seamus.(probably not as sad to bid adieu to the wearing of your opera pyjamas)I am sure you have brought immense pleasure to many, many people with all your performances over the last 2 weeks. Yoa are all truly the most wonderful ambassadors that Newfoundland and Canada could have chosen to be represented by.I know I speak for all the parents when I say that we are anxiously and joyously awaiting your safe return to us!
A message to Susan---Denis had dinner with us last night in Change Islands ,after which we had a small Newfoundland"time" with some singing,step-dancing and fiddle playing. Then we all watched the most exquisite sunset over the tickle.Poor Denis is suffering from a cold, but I think he enjoyed his evening with us, and we loved having him!

Dear Shallaway,
Eventhough we are thousands of kilometres away, we can feel that this 2008 tour has created memories, friendships and experiences that will last a lifetime. The weather here in July has been absolutely spectacular and has helped us appreciate this special corner of the world we call home. This website shows us everyday that you people are not afraid to leave Newfoundland and Labrador and discover the world. Indeed, you are all the leaders of tomorrow. Shallaway is helping us to pass this place on to capable young hands. We are deeply proud of you.

Alice will miss you immensely during her year in France. She will be counting the days until she returns to her Shallaway family.
Have a safe trip home.
David

I've enjoyed reading your Blog entries and looking at all your pictures. You have all done a great job with your performances and have represented NL so well. Hope you enjoyed your visits to those 2 beautiful countries. When I see the pictures of Ireland it brings back so many fond memories of my trip there. Colleen McCarthy is my grand-niece and I hope her memories of Ireland will be as fond to her as mine are to me. Love that beautiful country !!! Have a safe trip home - will see you on Sunday Colleen.
