LSPU Performance A Great Success

The first performance of Ann and Seamus in 2008 was at the LSPU Hall this afternoon. The heat of the theatre did not restrain the enthusiasm and poise of the cast and the band. The audience showed its appreciation with a standing ovation. The first picture above is a part of the cast taking a break between the dress rehearsal and the performance. The second picture includes special guests, the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation (second from right), Kevin Major, author of Ann and Seamus (centre), and Don James of StatoilHydro (far left). The Department and StatoilHydro are major contributors to Shallaway. Pictured with Jackman, Major and James are (from left) Mr. James' daughter, Susan Knight, and choral scholars Melissa Chaytor, Maria Conkey and Deirdre Costello. All the cast, staff, and crew will depart for Denmark tomorrow morning at 8:55am.l
